Planning notes
Motu or main island
The overwater villas sit on the outer motu, facing Mount Otemanu across the lagoon — the view everyone comes for, reached by boat. The main island puts you near Vaitape, restaurants and a car, with the mountain behind you rather than in front.
Getting there
Fly to Papeete, then a 50-minute domestic flight to Bora Bora, then a boat transfer of 10–30 minutes. Connections are daylight-limited and the domestic leg has a strict baggage allowance — worth checking before you pack for a month.
When to go
May to October is the dry season: cooler, less humid, the best water clarity and the highest rates. November to April is warmer and wetter with short heavy showers, and the value window. Seasons are reversed from the northern hemisphere, so July is winter here.
