Getting there
Fly into Mahé, then 25–30 minutes by helicopter to the island, daylight only. Arrivals from Europe and the Gulf usually land early enough to connect the same day; plan a night on Mahé if yours does not.
What a private island actually changes
Beaches with nobody on them, dining anywhere on the island, and no boat trips required to escape a crowd. What you give up is choice — one kitchen, one set of activities, and no walking to a restaurant that is not yours.
When to go
April to May and October to November are the changeover months: light wind, flat sea, best visibility. June to September brings the southeast trades — breezier and cooler. December to March is hotter and wetter, with turtle nesting on the beaches.

- How do you get to North Island in the Seychelles?
- By helicopter from Mahé, 25–30 minutes, in daylight only. Long-haul arrivals landing late need a night on Mahé before transferring.
- When is the best time for the Seychelles?
- April to May and October to November — the calmest wind, flattest sea and clearest water. June to September is breezy; December to March is hot, wetter and the turtle nesting season.
- Is a private island worth it?
- If privacy is the point of the trip, yes — empty beaches and dining anywhere on the island. If you want a choice of restaurants and easy day trips, a resort island on Praslin or Mahé suits better.
- How many villas are on the island?
- A handful — it is a single-estate island rather than a resort, which is what keeps the beaches empty and why dates need booking well ahead.
