The Maldives operates on the one-island-one-resort model, so a stay at Soneva Jani is a stay on a private island with a known guest list and resort security. Security varies by property; keep belongings secure. Local laws on alcohol and dress apply on inhabited islands, not within the resort.
Water is the real subject. Overwater villas mean children near open lagoon access — use the villa's safety gear and supervise constantly. Currents on the reef edge can be deceptively strong; snorkel where the marine team directs, and use the guided excursions for anything past the house reef.
