Our UK advice summary (checked 26 October 2026): Crime is generally non-violent, but break-ins, robberies and bag snatching occur, including on beaches and trails and when walking at night. Ebola-related entry health measures apply to travellers recently in affected countries. Terrorist attacks cannot be ruled out.
North Island is a private conservation island with a small resort community and managed access, but no destination is risk-free. Keep valuables secure and check current travel advice for the Seychelles.
The ocean requires attention. Currents around the island can be strong and conditions vary sharply between the sheltered and exposed sides depending on the monsoon; swim where the team directs, and take the snorkelling briefings seriously.

- Reef sharks are present and harmless to swimmers. Incidents are uncommon. Follow the resort's guidance and avoid swimming at dusk or in murky water after rain.
