What to know about Verbier
Verbier is the main village of the Val de Bagnes in the Swiss canton of Valais. The tourist office describes the 4 Vallées as Switzerland's largest ski area, with 410 km of pistes and Mont-Fort, at 3,330 m, as its highest point. For winter 2026/27 it reports a new combined chair and gondola lift between Les Esserts and Savoleyres, so skiers can cross between Verbier and La Tzoumaz without taking the bus.
We do not currently list our own chalets in Verbier. Stays here are booked through our partners' live search, and rates vary by property and date.
If you would rather stay in a hotel, the MICHELIN Guide's 2025 Switzerland Keys selection includes La Cordée des Alpes in Verbier at One Key. That is an independent rating, not our endorsement, and it says nothing about price or availability.
Which village to base in
Verbier village
The main resort, with lifts towards Les Ruinettes, Attelas and Mont-Fort. Confirm the walking or shuttle distance to the lifts for each chalet.
Le Châble
The valley village on the rail line, with cable cars up to Verbier. Practical if you arrive by train.
La Tzoumaz
A quieter village on the Savoleyres side of the ski area, now linked to Verbier by the new lift.
- The tourist office says cable cars run from Le Châble up to Verbier from 5:10 am to 11:55 pm, and free shuttle buses serve the main neighbourhoods; check current timetables.
- Ask whether the chalet is reached by road in winter and whether a driver or shuttle is needed.
- Confirm whether the week is catered or self-catered and what staffing is included.
- Check lift opening dates and snow conditions close to your dates; published dates depend on snow.
