What to know about Kitzbühel

Kitzbühel is a town in Tyrol, Austria, with its own railway station and lifts from the edge of the centre. KitzSki's planned 2026/27 operating times open the full link — Hahnenkamm, Fleckalm, Pengelstein, the 3S cable car, Jochberg and Resterhöhe — from 11 December 2026 to 29 March 2027, with a season finale on the Hahnenkamm side to 4 April. The Kitzbüheler Horn is planned from 28 November to 21 March. All dates depend on weather and snow.

The Hahnenkamm races run 18–24 January 2027, with the downhill on the Streif on Saturday 23 January. Check availability for those dates in the partner search.

We do not currently list our own chalets in Kitzbühel. Stays here are booked through our partners' live search, and rates vary by property and date.

If you would rather stay in a hotel, the MICHELIN Guide's 2025 Austria Keys selection includes Grand Tirolia Kitzbühel at Two Keys. That is an independent rating, not our endorsement, and it says nothing about price or availability.

Where to base

  • Kitzbühel town

The old town, near the station, restaurants and the Hahnenkamm and Horn lifts. Check the walking distance for each property.

  • Aurach and Reith

Neighbouring villages near the town. Confirm the drive or bus time to the lifts.

  • Jochberg

South of Kitzbühel, with lift access to the Jochberg and Resterhöhe side of the ski area.

  • Hahnenkamm week and the Christmas–New Year period are the first to book; confirm minimum stays.
  • Ask whether the chalet is ski-in, on a bus route, or needs a car or driver.
  • Confirm whether the week is catered or self-catered and what staffing is included.
  • Check KitzSki's lift status close to your dates; the published times are planned.
