What a Gstaad chalet costs
Gstaad is a valley of villages rather than a single resort, and the rental market follows: Oberbort above the promenade holds the grandest chalets, Saanen and Schönried are quieter, and the skiing is spread across separate mountains linked by bus and train. The local lift company, Bergbahnen Destination Gstaad, has been classified Swisstainable Level III (leading), its highest sustainability rating, and dogs travel free on its gondolas.

Which village to take
Oberbort
The hillside above the promenade. Ask the supplier for the distance into the village.
Gstaad village
The village centre, near the promenade and the Eggli cable car.
Schönried and Saanenmöser
On the Rellerli and Hornberg side of the valley. Confirm lift access for each chalet.
Saanen and Lauenen
Farmland outside the village. Ask the supplier for the distance by road.
- Gstaad village is low at 1,050 m — for snow certainty take Schönried or plan glacier days at Les Diablerets.
- Christmas and New Year are booked early and quoted separately.
- A driver matters here: the ski areas are separate mountains, not one linked domain.

- Geneva is the usual gateway by road; by rail, the GoldenPass line from Montreux is the final leg.
