Listed rates by winter destination
Across the three winter clusters, the French Alps sit at the top: Courchevel's median listed rate is more than double any other ski destination in the sample. St Barths leads the Caribbean, while Aspen and Punta Mita cluster in the mid-USD 4,000–6,000 range.

Courchevel's median ($11,150) is roughly 3–7× the medians of Lech, Cortina and Argentière in this sample, a gap driven by the concentration of large staffed chalets in 1850.

Festive minimum stays: what published terms actually show
A holiday stay may require more nights than an ordinary search. The rules depend on the property and dates selected, not the destination-wide listed nightly rate above.
Rules can change by arrival date
Booking.com explains that hosts can set minimum lengths of stay, arrival-day rules and advance-booking restrictions for specific dates. A listed nightly rate alone does not tell a traveller which holiday stays can actually be booked.

Haute Retreats' Christmas/New Year 2026/27 collection describes seven nights and Saturday changeovers as a common pattern, but says its actual stay conditions are confirmed house by house. This does not establish the terms of the 52 properties in our sample.

A property can stop accepting a particular stay because its calendar fills, its arrival or minimum-night rules exclude the requested dates, or its own advance-reservation window closes. Figures are computed from the 52 published iLuxuryTravels properties in the ten destinations listed, using each property's listed indicative nightly rate in USD and its partner availability status as last checked on 10–16 September 2026. These are listed rates, not date-specific festive or January quotes: they do not measure a festive premium, minimum-stay rules or booking lead times, and exclude taxes, fees and staffing. Samples are small (3–10 properties per destination) and reflect our partner inventory, not the whole market. 'Reported bookable' means a general partner status at check time, not availability for Christmas or any specific dates. Separate third-party examples below illustrate possible terms, not verified terms for any property in this sample. A comparable festive-versus-January index requires authorised date-specific price and availability data; it cannot be inferred from these listings.
