Two winds, and the flat weeks between them
The amihan, the northeast trade wind, runs from November to February: dry, cooler, and breezy enough to put a chop on the northern beaches. March to May is the still period — hot, flat water, the best diving visibility of the year, and the reason most people who know the island book then.
The habagat, the southwest monsoon, arrives around June and brings the rain through to October. Palawan sits west of the main typhoon corridor and is struck far less often than the Visayas or Luzon, but flights and boat transfers are the first thing to go when systems pass.

Pamalican is reached by a private charter flight from Manila, roughly 70 minutes, on a fixed daily schedule with strict baggage limits. There is no commercial alternative, so the flight, not the villa, is usually the binding constraint on dates — particularly over Christmas, New Year and Holy Week.
