Two winds, and the flat weeks between them
The amihan, the northeast trade wind, runs from November to February: dry, cooler, and breezy enough to put a chop on the northern beaches. March to May is the still period — hot, flat water, the best diving visibility of the year, and the reason most people who know the island book then.
PAGASA defines two national seasons: a rainy season from June to November and a dry season from December to May (a cooler spell from December to February and a hotter spell from March to May). Palawan's local pattern broadly follows this, though conditions vary by coast, and flights and boat transfers can be disrupted when weather systems pass.
